What happens after I register for matchplay?
You'll be contacted and we'll request the necessary information. Once Matchplay entries close then we will draw you into geographically assignd regions and your opponents will be assigned. On completion of each round, winners will then be drawn next opponents. If your one of our winners at the end of round 4 you'll then be contacted to arrange your participation into your choice of our national events for 2021.
I haven't picked a partner yet, can i still join?
Anyone with a formal handicap - we welcome male, female and mixed partnerships
I don't have a partner, can I still join?
We only need one member of a pair to book. You don't need to decide until we send the registration form on 25th April who your partner is - so just book and work thoes details out later!
If we win our 4 matches what do i win?
A free pair at any of our UK events. This could be at any of our top 100 venues such as Royal Lytham, The Belfry, The Grove, Celtic Manor or any of a large number of quality venues.
How long do we have to play the events?
What if we don't play by the deadline?
We have a whole series of rules around deadlines and failure to arrange matches - which can be viewed HERE
When does it start and end?
Round 1 starts on 1st May 2020 - draw will be made between closing date of 24th April and the start date of 1st May. The final round will be played in September with prizes dished out after September 30th 2020.
Who arranges the matches?
If your lucky enough to be drawn at home, we then give you the responsibility of reaching out to the away team whom we will provide you contact details for. If the home team does not reach out the away team will automatically progress. The home team is more than welcome to send us a message and let us know you have tried to contact the away team and we can note this and do our best to help.
How do you check handicaps?
Whereas we can check centrally, it's the role of each player to bring and check handicaps of their opponents at each match.
Who pays green fees?
The role of the home team is to request courtesy from the golf club for visitors - many are permitting this as it's mutually beneficial. If a golf club does not extend courtesy we recommend splitting visitors fees between 4. If neither of these is possible, then visitors fees will apply for visitors.
