A Memorable 4-Day Golf Event Across North Wales

What an amazing few days it has been! Our 4-day golf event took us across some of the most stunning courses in North Wales, where golfers took on the challenge of Maesdu Golf Club, Anglesey Golf Club, Bull Bay Golf Club, and Porthmadog Golf Club. From breathtaking views to fierce competition, each day brought something special to the table. Here’s a recap of all the highlights, memorable moments, and top performances!

Day 1 – Maesdu Golf Club

Course Highlights:
The 18-hole Championship Course at Maesdu Golf Club offered a beautiful mix of parkland and links. Golfers were treated to breathtaking panoramic views across Conwy Bay, with the majestic Snowdonia National Park providing the perfect backdrop.

Memorable Moments:
The day kicked off with a bang when Wyndham Evans put his 1st shot of the day to 3ft, winning the Nearest the Pin on the 1st hole. Then, Kynan Stubbs hit an incredible 370-yard drive down the 18th, claiming Longest Drive. And let’s not forget the Melon Men—Ken & Maurice, who took home the prize for Best Dressed of the day in their bold outfits!

• Zac Byard & Andrew Headford – 44 Points

Day 2 – Anglesey Golf Club

Course Highlights:
Set in the dunes of Rhosneigr, Anglesey Golf Club is the only links course on the island. With par 70 from both the whites and reds, the course offers a unique challenge for golfers of all abilities.

Memorable Moments:
A standout moment was when Nigel Griffiths birdied the last hole, earning a huge 4 points for a strong finish. The 6th hole was the site of the Nearest the Pin competition, with a 170-yard shot onto a narrow green providing plenty of excitement!

Runner-Up:

• Tony Hoare & Martin Jackson – 43 Points

Longest Drive (17th Hole):

• Men’s: Tom Gledhill

• Ladies: Jess Gledhill

Day 3 – Bull Bay Golf Club

Course Highlights:
Bull Bay Golf Club, located on the most northerly point of Wales, offers spectacular views and a challenging 18-hole championship course. The combination of lush fairways and superb greens made this course an unforgettable experience.

Memorable Moments:
With the wind howling at over 30 MPH, the conditions were tough, but Jonathan Cann & Matthew Minton still managed to rack up 41 points, the highest score of the day. Special mention goes to Allan Smith, who not only won Nearest the Pin but also claimed the £192.50 pot with his 2 on the par 3!

Runner-Up:

• Tony Hoare & Martin Jackson – 39 Points

• Allan Smith

Longest Drive (18th Hole):

Day 4 – Porthmadog Golf Club

Course Highlights:
The Porthmadog Golf Club course is known for its heathland and links combination, with stunning views of Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia. The perfect end to a fantastic 4-day golf competition.

Memorable Moments:
On Day 4, Zac Byard & Andrew Headford got off to a fast start being -5 through 6 and finished strong with 44 points. The competition was fierce, but the final day belonged to them. Meanwhile, Tony Hoare & Martin Jackson were consistent throughout the week, securing 171 points in total to take the overall win!

Runner-Up:

• Tony Hoare & Martin Jackson – 43 Points

Nearest the Pin (9th Hole):

• Paul Mellor

Longest Drive (18th Hole):

• Men’s: Gary Melling

• Ladies: Jess Gabriel

Overall Winners of the 4-Day Tournament:

• Tony Hoare & Martin Jackson – 171 Points
  A well-deserved victory for the pair, who remained steady and consistent across all four days. Their fantastic play throughout the week earned them a solid win with 10 points ahead of second place!

Final Thoughts:

This 4-day event across North Wales was one for the books, filled with amazing golf, memorable moments, and outstanding performances. A huge thank you to all our participants for their enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and passion for the game. We can’t wait to see you all at our next event!
