What an incredible four days of golf we’ve had in Fife! From the stunning links courses to the challenging heathland layouts, each day brought something special for the 180+ players who joined us. The picturesque views, unpredictable weather, and fantastic competition made this event one to remember. Let’s take a look back at the highlights of each day and the exceptional performances that made this event truly memorable.

Day 1 – Scotscraig Golf Club

Course Highlights:
Our first stop was Scotscraig, a blend of links and heathland that provided a true test for all golfers. It’s no surprise that Scotscraig, the 13th oldest golf club in the world, has hosted Open qualifying in the past and remains one of Scotland’s premier courses. The weather started off bright and sunny, though the wind picked up as the day went on, adding a challenging element to this historic course.

Tournament Highlights:
It was an incredible start to the event with Joao & Miguel leading the field with an impressive 50 points at Dumbarnie, six points clear of second place. At Scotscraig, Kingsley & Simon posted a stellar 51 points, also six points clear of the next team. These fantastic scores set the tone for the competition ahead!

Day 2 – Leven Golf Club

Course Highlights:
Day 2 saw us at Leven Golf Club, a historic course that dates back to 1846. Leven is known for its testing layout and strong winds, especially the front nine, which challenges golfers with firm fairways and demanding shots. The course is known for its unrelenting test of accuracy, with the wind playing a major factor in making or breaking scores.

Tournament Highlights:
The entire field teed off from 07:30 to 16:00, with the challenging conditions forcing players to stay focused throughout the day. Andy Tooth made a hole-in-one on the 15th, which was an exciting moment for the day. As a gift, the Leven Pro awarded him a Leven Hip Flask, adding a special memory to his round. What a way to start the day!

Day 3 – Ladybank Golf Club

Course Highlights:
Ladybank, designed by the legendary Tom Morris, greeted us on Day 3. A beautiful heathland course, Ladybank is known for its small, firm greens that require precise approach shots. It has hosted the Open qualifying finals seven times since 1978, a testament to its status as one of Scotland’s premier courses.

Tournament Highlights:
Darren Nulton stole the show as Best Dressed, sporting traditional plus-fours that added a touch of class to the day. The challenging course layout and firm greens made the day’s round even more interesting, as golfers had to rely on precise shot-making to keep their scores in check. Despite the challenges, the atmosphere remained light-hearted and competitive, and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

Day 4 – Dumbarnie Golf Club

Course Highlights:
We finished our four-day adventure at Dumbarnie Golf Club, a links course offering a unique layout with holes in all directions. The course is known for its spectacular views of the Firth of Forth and its changeable wind conditions, which made for an exciting end to the event.

Tournament Highlights:
The final day was a success with all golfers in good spirits, arriving early to soak in the beautiful views and make the most of their last round. The feedback from the day was incredibly positive, with many praising the course and the event itself. The combination of great weather, fewer winds, and higher temperatures made for the perfect finale to this fantastic event.

Throughout the four days, golfers faced a mix of challenging links layouts, firm greens, and strong winds—all against the stunning backdrop of Fife’s natural beauty. From Scotscraig to Ladybank, every course provided its own unique challenges, and each day was filled with unforgettable moments.
